LAUNCH.ed - Supporting the University of Edinburgh's Student Entrepreneurs

At LAUNCH.ed, we work with students every day to help them explore their ideas, find funding and business partners, and ultimately, to work for themselves. Our services are free, confidential, and available to any University of Edinburgh student for the duration of their studies, as well as alumni up to two years after graduation. Over the last five years, we've helped Edinburgh students and alumni start more than 125 new businesses.

Enterprise events

LAUNCH.ed runs a full programme of enterprise events many of which are relevant even if you don’t have an idea yet. We also run two competitions each year which can be a great way to get some feedback on your ideas and possibly win funding for your startup.

  • 2-Day Business Bootcamp Workshops
  • Get Innovationing Workshop
  • Funding Workshops
  • Accounting & Legal Clinics

One to one appointments with a business advisor

So do you fancy being your own boss? As a student at the University of Edinburgh or Edinburgh College of Art, you can book meetings with a LAUNCH.ed business adviser to discuss your business ideas and get advice. These informal meetings are a chance to get one-to-one support and are the foundation of our service.

At your first meeting, you will be asked to describe your idea and its commercial potential, and also to describe your current circumstances and aspirations. At this meeting, an assessment will be made of the next steps needed to explore your idea and the potential funding options available.

We offer appointments at George Square, Edinburgh College of Art, and King's Buildings.
